Everyone who pays any attention to case reviews know that Vaja Cases are just dripping with quality, and this case is certainly no exception. From perfectly even stitching to a supple lining leather and nary a sign of the glue used in the assembly process that some cases seem to be dripping with.

There's really not a whole lot to review about this case given its simple and basic design. It's a pouch. The Treo slides into it snugly and it fits the Treo like a glove. The Treo is in the case with the cover facing inwards, and the case includes a plastic stiffener inside the leather to add protection to the face of the Treo. There is an opening in the flap of the case to allow for the antenna when the flap is closed. The flap is held closed with a simple button snap which holds well and should stand up to years of use. The back of the case has a swivel clip button with straight sides which require the case to be at a 90 degree angle to the clip to be inserted into, or removed from, the clip. This helps prevent accidental removal from the clip, and is a welcome change from the clips on most every other case on the market that I've tried. While the Treo is fully protected in this case, there is still access to the headset jack. The jog dial is mostly obstructed, but if you want to you can still give it a push with the Treo still in the case. The flap does obstruct the IR port and other things on the top of the Treo, but since this case is not designed to remain on the Treo at all times, that hindrance is not a real drawback.

Unfortunately, for me, since this case is designed to be left on the belt, I found the swiveling design of the belt clip to be problematic. Because the Treo fits so snugly, it can be difficult to put in and take out of the case without the case swiveling in the process. This would probably lessen over time as the case is broken in, but the case will still rotate to an unexpected position with a lot of activity or friction. Ideally, the case should remain in a fixed position so that it is always where you expect it to be and in the expected orientation when you go to remove the Treo from the case or to put it back in. If it weren't for this drawback, it would be my ideal case. I hope Vaja makes one with a clip or belt loop that lets the case rest snugly against the belt in a horizontal position.

With the excellent quality of Vaja Cases, it's hard to be unhappy with any of them, including this one. If the swiveling won't bother you, then get one of these cases and treat your Treo with the tender loving care it deserves... put it in a Vaja!
