Favorite Cartoon Ep : 'Roll For It' - honorable mention: Dark Awakening/Return of Prime story arc
Favorite Comic Issue : 72 - honorable mention: any that Furman wrote!
Favorite Character : Optimus freaking Prime. I don't care what anybody says - he's still the best. He's got all the qualities I myself aspire to have. I believe that people should always look to the positive, and try to make the world a better place. Prime does this, and gets the job done with minimal whining. (Unlike some other guy with the same last name...)
Favorite Toy : Ooh, that's tough. I think I'll hafta go with Jetfire, 'cause I'm also a huge Robotech fan.
Personal Information : Besides TFs, I'm also a huge Star Wars and Robotech fan/collector, and like other sci-fi stuff as well. The Indy Jones and Back To The Future film series have also earned my fandom. My favorite actor is Harrison Ford. I'm an electrical engineering major in college, and I like baseball. I'm very liberal-minded, and abhor all forms of opression, including (but not limited to) racism, sexism, homophobia, religious persecution, and censorship. I'm single, and the father of 7yr-old twin girls who I'm proud to say are second-generation TF and SW fans. I'm obsessed with music - rock and roll is my one true faith. I grew up on classic rock, but also dig some of the better made metal and alternative. Faves include Queen, Scorpions, Aerosmith, Zeppelin, Van Halen, Boston, Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Co., the Firm, etc.), Micheal Schenker (UFO, MSG, etc.), AC/DC, the Beatles, Dream Theater, Queensryche, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and many more. I play a little guitar, but nothing serious. I'm also way into animation and comedy, with some of my favorite sources of each (or both) are as follows: classic and new Warner Bros. cartoons, the Simpsons, Futurama, The Family Guy, Beavis And Butt-head, South Park, David Letterman, Saturday Night Live (all eras), News Radio, Mel Brooks films, Kevin Smith's 'New Jersey Chronicles' films, George Carlin (my 'occupation' above is a Carlinism), Denis Leary, and so on. I'm developing a twenty-plus installment novel series covering the history of the TFs as I see it - combining the better aspects of the cartoon, comic, and my own material, which I score with apropriate rock music as if they were movies. I've begun turning one of these stories into a comic, called Somewhere In Time, a sort of cross between TFs and Back To The Future. So far, only one issue out of a planned twenty is completed. The good news is, the first issue is free, so if you're interested, e-mail me. I've been to all but the first BotCon, and don't plan to miss any future events. (By the way, if you've ever seen the LegoMasters there, I'm the guy! I have some new ones planned for BC2K) I don't have many pet peeves, but one TF related one is my disdain for people who think they're being 'cool' or 'rebellious' by being a Con supporter - especially to the point of bad-mouthing others and losing a grip on reality. I tend to like the Bots more, but as a general fan, I feel both factions have their redeeming qualities. Oh, and people who tend to prefer post-Movie (or even Beast Wars) characters over the OG gang - you gotta be kiddin' me! At the risk of coming across like Dana Carvey's 'Grumpy Old Man' character, I really feel the TFs - at least in the TV universe - has gone progressively down hill. I still enjoy each new era, but a little less than the previous incarnation. Anyone with similar interests is highly encouraged to e-mail me.
