Deerskin Purse

I found this purse at the Portland Saturday market one summer. Unfortunately, I forgot to grab the artists card, and his name is long gone from my feeble memory. I can tell you he was Native American, and very talented. If you recognize this artists work, please contact me. Aside from that, all I can tell you is that this piece is totally hand made from different colors of deerskin and/or a thin chrome tanned leather with an inlayed piece of "scrunched" deerskin on the front and cover flap. It's totally hand stitched with natural colored artificial sinew, and hand braided sueded leather strap which is attached with wrapped black deerskin and beads. It's hard to see all the work that went in this peice just from the photo, but I can guarantee that it is very impressive. I just wish I could track down the artists name to properly credit him.
