They heard the predacons speaking and pretended not to know.
Although, hearing their conversation was how they found out about the base and quickly entered. They found out that the base would be hidden underneath the ground in a cave. The decepticons caught on to this hearing of their conversation because they saw Grimlock return to to beast mode and infiltrate the base by ripping away at the doorlike top of the base. One of them who just happened to be the legendary Starscream whispered almost inaudibly into his wrist comm,"Soundwave and I will provide a diversion for the initial launch of the Vengeance."
Soundwave, who was more well hidden helped the communication to become linked to its many receivers. He linked up to a computer screen on the little known Vengeance,(completely unknown to all the maximals and autobots)and he said to Megatron,"We have used the bait but we hope it wasn't in vain. Starscream and I are trying our best to stop the maximals and autobots. They disgust me."
Next off, The autobot duo jumped into the newly made hole into total darkness. They told Goldbug about what was going on as far as they knew and their current mission. They even requested for backup because of the dangerous encounter with Tripredacus. They decided to play it safe and carefully search for any danger. Goldbug told them quickly that Jazz and a reconnaisance team were on the way.
